Conquered by Paula Quinene

Genre: Romance/Erotica/Romantic Fiction/Historical
Tags: Guam/WWII/Military/Erotic/Love/Chamorro

Conquered is a passionate love story, as much about its main characters, Guam native Jesi Taimanglo and American GI Johan Landers, as it is about author Paula Quinene’s passion for Guam itself. As her characters try to find a place for themselves amid the war, Jesi’s relatives, and the Chamorro traditions, Quinene charts a path through a seldom told story: Guam’s place in WWII. An original idea written with an original voice that invites readers in to the exotic world of the Pacific, complete with coconut trees, banana doughnuts, dolphins swimming in the ocean, and moonlight on Pago Bay, Conquered also recounts the brutal horrors of the Japanese occupation on Guam, a US territory largely forgotten back in the States. In addition to learning about a singular and little-known culture that has played a part in the world wars of the Pacific, readers will undoubtedly crave the recipe for banana doughnuts.

Eating From The Cherry Tree by Vivien Ella Walden
Genre: Memoir/Autobiography/Life Story/Erotica
Tags: Manchester/Prostitution/Brothel/Lancashire/Assembly Rooms/Salford

EATING FROM THE CHERRY TREE is a dynamic, unique and totally revealing memoir of one of the most notorious and successful 'madams' the UK has seen in recent years. The book is inspired by Vivien Ella Walden's unique life experiences that lead up to and behind her brothel doors.

Within a short time she becomes famous for her skills and able to afford whatever she desires within a world of scandal and naughtiness, corruption and suffering, sadness and exhilarating happiness.

Images of a complex girl emerge from this incredibly frank account. An account of a girl raised in a loving working class Jewish family who ran from her heritage, bared her perfectly formed derriere and partied with the elite and famous. She takes on many guises and titles, while mixing with gangsters, politicians, film stars, musicians and artists. Names of the rich and famous sprinkle this book. They all knew of her industry, it was not unlike theirs.
Being a stripper, call girl, hooker, or madam, you have to know how to dance to the music, be a good actress, stand up to the toughest, deal with the law and paint your own picture for all to see.

This is an amazing book, telling a story of prostitution that has never been told in such explicit detail before. It will reach inside the heart of all those who admire absolute honesty on a subject many consider taboo.

Not surprisingly, Sarah finds that Brian is in his egotistical element playing the mighty Caesar. The fact that the final performance of the play takes place on the infamous Ides of March – the day when, according to tradition, Caesar was fatally stabbed – only adds to the excitement.
But tragedy is waiting in the wings. And when it strikes, it falls to Sarah – with the help of Brian’s personable, and fascinating, nephew Martin Burns – to uncover the incredible truth about what really happened…

Has he chosen his owner well and landed on his paws? Dougal the Labradoodle puppy, a complete hypochondriac and Boris Johnson’s No 1 fan, arrives in Greenwich with great expectations.

He longs to travel the world on Virgin Atlantic, dine at royal banquets and either become a superstar and party the night away or work as a doorman at the Savoy.

Behaviour classes were never on his wish-list, neither were cliff-hanging experiences on the Thames, booze cruises to Calais or obsessions for eating socks.

Can he survive life with a chaotic owner and her eccentric friends? Can he deal with his jealousy when a foster puppy comes to stay? And as for his dreams, will they ever come true?

I’m Shane Henderson, I’m a professional footballer. These are my diaries, my thoughts, and conversations. My daily life as I live my dream, the good bits and the bad bits."

Paths of Separations by Gulshan Ul Amin

Genre: Literature & Fiction/Contemporary Fiction/Short Stories
Tags: Asian/Muslim/Fate/Decisions/Heartache/Love

"This book is a collection of Gulshan Ul Amin’s five stories, Octopus, Dowry, Real, History, Gamble.

Being a British Asian Muslim all her stories have (obviously) assortments of that touch, flavor, and spices necessary to leave a taste on the reader’s tongue.

All the stories are written with and from the author’s heart, have a definate story plot/line, complete with sweet sharp dialogues/ sentences. The stories are meaningful, situational, very happening, fresh and very very readable.
To grasp the real depth, meaning and message of these stories the reader will have to read them to the full. Once you start reading you wont be able to put the book down.
Octopus: A roller coaster journey of life and it’s ways. It’ a story of love, fate, pain, heartache and decisions a man makes for himself.
Dowry: Full of traditions, customs and family values.
Real: When a person is too busy somewhere else and is on the verge of forgetting Allah, then Allah causes something or another to happen to make that person feel His presence. A read to look at ones inside self.
History: Sometimes history does repeat itself.
Gamble: Choices are gambles. They have to be taken.
A book like this is rare. So don’t let it pass you by.

And their center, the College of St. Van Helsing, attempts to bring new generations of witch-finders to the noble cause. Genre: Humour/Humor/Fiction/Satire/Literary
Tags: Family/Children/Teenager/Teenagers/Emo/Funny/Love

Mothers and daughters alike will never look at each other in quite the same way after reading this book—a brilliantly funny observation of contemporary family life.

Lizzie—exasperated Mother of Cassie, Connor and Stepdaughter Maisy—is the frustrated voice of reason to her daughters’ teenage angst. She gets by with good friends, cheap wine and talking to herself—out loud.

16-year-old Cassie—the Facebook-Tweeting, Selfie-Taking, Music and Mobile Phone obsessed teen—hates everything about her life. She longs for the perfect world of Chelsea Divine and her 'undivorced' parents—and Joe, of course.

However, the discovery of a terrible betrayal and a brutal attack throws the whole household into disarray. Lizzie and Cassie are forced to reassess the important things in life as they embark upon separate journeys of self-discovery—accepting some less than flattering home truths along the way.

Although tragic at times this is a delightfully funny exploration of domestic love, hate, strength and ultimately friendship. A poignant, heartfelt look at that complex and diverse relationship between a Mother and daughter set amongst the thorny realities of today’s divided and extended families. Shani Struthers
Genre: Horror/Psychological/Paranormal/Crime/Mystery/Fiction

What do you do when a whole town is haunted?

In 1899, in the North Yorkshire market town of Thorpe Morton, a tragedy occurred; 59 people died at the market hall whilst celebrating Christmas Eve, many of them children. One hundred years on and the spirits of the deceased are restless still, ‘haunting’ the community, refusing to let them forget.

In 1999, psychic investigators Theo Lawson and Ness Patterson are called in to help, sensing immediately on arrival how weighed down the town is. Quickly they discover there’s no safe haven. The past taints everything.

Hurtling towards the anniversary as well as a new millennium, their aim is to move the spirits on, to cleanse the atmosphere so everyone – the living and the dead – can start again. But the spirits prove resistant and soon Theo and Ness are caught up in battle, fighting against something that knows their deepest fears and can twist them in the most dangerous of ways.
